District Mission Society
Objectives:
To assist the churches of the North Wilkesboro District in implementing new and continuing current ministries within the boundaries of the District.
To provide financial aid for:
a. new congregations
b. the adaptation of the ministries of local churches to their
changing communities
c. the formation of inner-city parishes, rural cooperative parishes, or
task forces
d. the development of such special ministries to meet the mission of
the local church or District
To receive funds from the District Mission Society Apportionment, the Annual Conference Vision Builders Society, and any other sources.
To allocate funds for approved projects.
District Mission Society Grants will not normally exceed 10% of the total cost of the project with a limit of $1,500 per year up to three (3) years. Exceptions may be made to support new congregations, fund new outreach projects, or assist in special circumstances.
Remission funds will only be granted for projects that go beyond the maintenance of existing buildings and programs and will be used to enable local churches to begin new and creative ministries that will touch more people in more ways in the name of Jesus Christ.
